Professor Rob Skinner
Director – Monash Water for Liveability
Rob Skinner is Professorial Fellow and Director of Monash University’s Water for Liveability Centre and also Deputy Chair of the CRC for Water Sensitive Cities.
Rob was Managing Director of Melbourne Water for six years until 2011 where he initiated a number of collaborative relationships between Melbourne Water and agencies in Singapore, UK, and Timor Leste.
Prior to joining Melbourne Water he was the Chief Executive Officer of Kingston Council in Melbourne for ten years- a large municipal council in metropolitan Melbourne – during which he served on a number of Boards and government advisory committees responsible for water sector policy and programs.
Rob is also Chair of WaterAid Australia, and Chair of the EPA Victoria’s People and Culture Committee.
He is a Fellow of the International Water Association (IWA), Chair of the International Water Association’s Cities of the Future Working Group, Fellow of the Institute of Engineers (Aus) and Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
