Sultana Nasrin Nury

PhD Student – School of Geography and Environmental Science, Monash University
p. (03) 9905 4457

Nury completed her Masters of Science (Geosciences) at Jahangirnagar University in Bangladesh. Her interest in the spatial sciences and remote sensing techniques led her to undertake studies at The Faculty of Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation (ITC), University of Twente in The Netherlands. She was thus able to achieve a Professional Masters in Geoinformatics. Nury’s enthusiasm led her to complete a further Masters in Environmental Science at Monash University. Nury’s research interests are multi-disciplinary, with her additional interests including hydrology, urban environment and urban climate, leading her to her current PhD research scope.

Nury’s PhD (Estimation of actual evapotranspiration using remote sensing data to assess the role of vegetation and water on urban climate: A study of Melbourne city) is linked to Project P3 (Green Cities and Microclimate), within the Cities as Water Supply Catchments Program.
