Dr Nilmini Siriwardene
Former PhD Candidate – Department of Civil Engineering, Monash University
Nilmini undertook her Bachelor and Postgraduate Diploma in Civil Engineering at the University of Moratuwa in Sri Lanka. She then worked as a Project Engineer in consultancies and local councils, both in Sri Lanka and in Australia (Casey City Council). The areas she worked in included Water Distribution and Structural Designs of buildings. In 2004, after completing a Masters Degree on researching optimization of stormwater drainage models at Victoria University, Nilmini started her PhD at Monash University, in the Civil Engineering Department. Nilmini completed her Thesis in 2007 and worked as a Research Fellow at eWater CRC for a year before joining South East Water as a Water Conservation Analyst.
Nilmini’s PhD (Development of an Experimentally-Derived Clogging Prediction Method for Stormwater Infiltration Systems) is linked to the Non-Vegetated Filtration Systems theme, within the WSUD Technologies Program.
