Frank has worked as a specialist research engineer in the hydraulics laboratory in the Department of Civil Engineering at Monash University for 18 years. During the major part of this time the focus has mainly been on physical modelling work associated with projects as diverse as river remediation works, sewerage structures and dam spillways.
In recent years Frank’s work has become more focussed on water harvesting, recycling and re-use projects through a support role to field work and post-graduate students.

Frank’s involvement in the centre for Water Sensitive Cities includes:
- Management and support for postgraduate students involved in research projects.
- Fieldwork projects, providing expertise in project management, flow measurement, instrumentation, data logging and electronics.
