General Manager – Melbourne Water
Chris Chesterfield has a background in biology and philosophy and has worked for the last 20 years in technical and management roles in the Department of Water Resources, Department of Sustainability and Environment, Parks Victoria and Melbourne Water.
He is currently General Manager of the Waterways Group at Melbourne Water which manages water quality, floodplains and waterways across the Port Phillip and Westernport region covering an area of 13,000 km2 and a population of over four million people.
Chris has played a significant role in the management of Victoria’s waterways and is a widely recognized champion of sustainable water management and water sensitive urban design.
Chris Chesterfield is the VIC Water Utilities Representative on the Management Committee for the Cities as Water Supply Catchments Program.
