Michael has engaged in both the research and practice of environmental flows for more than 18 years. His research deals with human impacts on riverine hydrology and consequences for freshwater ecosystems. He advises government at Commonwealth, State and Regional levels including on-going membership of scientific advisory committees for the Commonwealth Environmental Water Holder, (EWSAC), the Murray Darling Basin Authority (ISRAG), Vic. DSE (TAP), Melbourne Water (RHEIP).
