Rachelle joined the Urban Water Governance Program in 2010 and the Science-Policy Partnership in 2011. With a background in sociology, philosophy and sustainability, through her Bachelor of Arts degree and Masters of Environment and Sustainability both from Monash University, Rachelle has a strong interest in environmental ethics and societal behaviour and the role of these in bringing about more sustainable communities and environments. The Centre for Water Sensitive Cities provides an important focus for Rachelle’s interests in terms of the nexus between societal change, environmental challenges and the need for more adaptive and flexible cities.

Rachelle is a Research Officer in the Science-Policy Partnership of the Centre and has developed a societal needs framework for liveability. She has been undertaking research on the contribution of integrated urban water management and water sensitive urban design on liveability.
