Michael joined the Urban Water Governance team as a PhD researcher, after completing a Bachelor of Environmental Engineering at Monash University and working for a development NGO in rural Bangladesh, where he decided that the socio-technical nature of development in the water sector in the developing world warranted further research. Mike has won several awards including an Endeavour Award (Endeavour Research Fellowship) for research in developing countries, and an AusAID funded competitive grant agreement for capacity training as part of his PHD. The latter, “Transitioning to Sustainable Urban Water Management in Developing Countries of the Pacific Region”, is linked to the Urban Water Futures theme, within the Urban Water Governance Program of Monash Water for Liveability.
