Carlyne joined the Urban Water Governance Program in April 2010 as a PhD student. Her educational background is in the social sciences and management.
Much of her work is in training and community development. She also has experience working on regional projects which sought to enhance the capacities of, and collaborations among, communities and local/national government agencies in disaster preparedness for floods and droughts, and climate risk. This experience gave her an appreciation of the management requirements needed when working with a range of stakeholders operating at various scales. She hopes to apply this insight to the urban stormwater management sector through her research exploring co-design and co-management arrangements for distributed water systems in order to create a guiding framework for implementing such arrangements at the local level.
