Capacity Building for Water Sensitive Cities

The Centre for Water Sensitive Cities will form partnerships with state based capacity building programs to link the Centre’s innovative research with these award-winning industry training programs. Organisations with which partnerships will be formed include Clearwater (Vic), WSUD (NSW), Water by Design (Qld) and New WAterways (WA).

These collaborations will draw together resources, networks, knowledge and tools to provide a trusted, nationally recognised leader in industry outreach and capacity building, enabling the transition to Water Sensitive Cities. The Centre has a strong focus on accelerating the uptake of sustainable urban water management by connecting individuals and organisations from local government, state government, industry consultants and industry contractors with accessible and relevant cutting edge research and its practical application.

Technical training, forums, site tours, advice and on-line information will deliver industry outreach and capacity building, increasing the awareness and adoption of best practice and developing the technical and leadership skills of professionals. These activities enable industry professionals to better integrate research into policy, industry resources and on ground practices to design, develop and manage our cities and towns by sustainable water management principles.
